On Thursday, July 18th and Friday, July 19th, we held the first-ever West Virginia Technology Expo.
The West Virginia Technology Expo showcased information technology brought to the Mountain State by its largest full-service IT company, Advantage Technology. Hosted at the spectacular Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, attendees had unprecedented access to industry insiders, training opportunities and the chance to network with colleagues.
We had classes including Introduction to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency presented by Benjamin Gilbert, Data Protection by Tim Brock, What’s new with Virtual Desktops and User Mobility? by Brandon Gruttadauria, Introduction to Wireless AX by David O’Brien, Endpoint Security through Network Access Control by Ryan Loftus, Power Quality and UPS Basics by Adam Pratt, Next Generation Wireless by Jose Ward, Basically Business Email by Jens Kiel, Evaluating Telecom Carriers by Kent McMillion and Cybersecurity: You Are the Last Line of Defense by Chris May.
Vendors from all over the country showcased every facet of information technology in the Elk River Atrium. Cloud computing, servers, workstations, networking, cybersecurity, data analytics, telecommunication, and more were all represented.
In addition to the classes and vendor exhibition, we had two unique social events.
First was be the Advantage Lunch at noon with a keynote presentation from Jared Jankowski, a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Then, Thursday evening we had the Juniper/Mist After Hours Mixer! This was a time to mingle with colleagues and enjoy a drink and delicious hors d’oeuvres brought to you by the joint venture of Juniper Networks and Mist Systems. Moreover, the solutions will deliver unsurpassed end-to-end user and IT experiences.
