Patrick Marozzi, a former high school baseball coach, is looking to pitch a perfect game for Advantage Technology in the Bridgeport-Clarksburg area.

Marozzi says he sees incredible potential for Advantage Technology in the state’s North Central Corridor.

“My plan is to make this one of the most successful territories for our company,” he says. “There is a lot of opportunity with all of the development along I-79. Business is steadily growing in North Central West Virginia.”

Bowling Night 2018

Friday night was bowling night for Advantage Technology! The Advantage Technology crew met up at Venture Lanes in St. Albans  and bowled until they kicked us out.

United Way of Central WV to Host Cybersecurity Lunch and Learn for Non-Profits Agencies

CHARLESTON, WV: Join United Way and Advantage Technology as we host a Lunch and Learn session designed to help non-profits avoid an unwanted cyber-attack. The free event will take place October 11, 11:30a – 1p in the United Way of Central WV offices at 1 United Square, Charleston.  Bring a lunch – beverages and desserts will be available.

Heart Walk, barbecue and WVU!

On Saturday Sept 29th, Advantage Technology participated in the American Heart Association's Charleston Heart walk! Following the walk, we enjoyed a barbecue and watched the WVU game.

The Heart Walk began at the Capitol Complex. From there, participants walked down Kanawha Boulevard to the turnaround right in front of our office building at 950 Kanawha Blvd. We had a live band, The Harper Project, balloons, selfie frames and a small gift for all participants!

We are excited to announce that on September 29th, Advantage Technology is partnering with the American Heart Association to promote health and fitness by sponsoring the Charleston Heart Walk! The Heart Walk will begin at the Capitol Complex. From there, participants will walk down Kanawha Boulevard and turn around right in front of our office building at 950 Kanawha Blvd. We live music and a little gift for the first 1,000 walkers!

New cybersecurity threat using Remote Desktop Protocol

We have seen a recent uptick in computer networks being hacked through a common internet protocol called Remote Desktop Protocol or RDP.  This service provides a user with a graphical interface to connect to another computer over a network connection. It is most commonly used to allow remote access to servers. These hacks have been accomplished through brute force, which is a hacking method where the attacker uses common dictionary words or simple variations of dictionary words to break into systems.

SWARM Reports with SonicWall

On June 14th, we held our June Advantage Lunch at Edgewood Country Club. We invited our friends from SonicWall to talk about SWARM reports.

A SWARM report is an assessment that helps customers identify real-time vulnerabilities and network threats. Each SWARM report is easy to navigate and features a Security Index score based on current network activity and any security threats that have been identified by SonicWall’s next-generation firewalls. SWARM reports help customers prevent any cyber threat surprises.

The 4th Annual Picnic on Cinco de Mayo

Last year we had our company picnic in July, and our first picnic was in August. The problem with that time of year is that it’s hot. Very hot! So this year, we thought we’d have our 4th Annual Picnic in May, and Cinco de Mayo gave us the perfect theme.
