An introduction to Microsoft 365

Whether you are a consumer or a business user, Microsoft 365 will provide you with the tools you need to get your work done. This cloud-based productivity platform is a mix of popular Office applications and advanced cloud services. Its features include email, document collaboration, security, and more. You can use it from desktops and laptops, smartphones, and tablets. It also offers a full suite of Office apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Dell PowerStore Advantage Lunch

On November 8^th, we hosted our friends at Dell at Frederick’s iconic restaurant, Dutch's Daughter! It was a lunch full of food, education and networking starting at noon with a Dell presentation on their latest storage technology, PowerStore. We gave away a Dell Latitude 9330 2-In-1 valued at over $4,000!

Business After Hours at Advantage Technology

On September 22nd, the Charleston Area Alliance held their Business After Hours at Baer Place, 950 Kanawha Blvd E! It was a cool evening with perfect weather, and everyone enjoyed food and drinks catered by 1010 Bridge Road.

The Business After Hours the prime networking event in the Charleston Metro Area. Hosted monthly by the Charleston Area Alliance and their members, it provides a fun and unique way for business professionals and entrepreneurs to meet with one another outside of regular business hours.

Advantage Technology's 2022 Company Picnic

Wrapping up summer, the Advantage Technology crew came from far and wide to enjoy our annual company picnic! We enjoyed hamburgers and hotdogs with all of the fixings at Coonskin Park in Charleston. Never a dull moment, at Advantage Technology, we really know how to throw a party!

Dirty Birds Baseball with Verkada

On September 9^th, we hosted our friends at Verkada for an incredible night of Appalachian baseball! The Charleston Dirty Birds took on the Lancaster Barnstormers and we rented out the Legends Club so you can watch the game, have a few drinks, and learn all about Verkada’s amazing hybrid-cloud platform that makes it easy to scale physical security, giving you smarter security and safer buildings.

Urban Wine Tasting with Arctic Wolf

At Advantage Technology, we’ve found that leaders are really having a difficult time with cybersecurity. The topic is difficult, so webinars and presentations just don’t cut through the complexity. So we decided a more intimate setting where we can meet everyone and address individual questions would be more productive. So on August 25th, we booked a wine tasting at Stone House Urban Winery in Hagerstown and invited Arctic Wolf Networks, an industry leader in cybersecurity, to join us. There we met casually, enjoying some wine and answering questions.

2022 West Virginia Technology Expo

On July 21^st and 22^nd the Charleston Coliseum and Convention center was invaded by technology experts, professionals and enthusiasts as we held the West Virginia Technology Expo! For two days, we had vendors from all over the country showcasing every facet of information technology in the Elk River Hall. Cloud computing, servers, workstations, networking, cybersecurity, data analytics, telecommunication, and more will be represented.

Advantage Technology: 20 Year of IT Excellence

Advantage Technology began with Richard Wilbur III providing IT consulting from a spare bedroom in early 2000. After working for several consumer-driven IT businesses directly out of college, he saw an opportunity to provide groundbreaking, enterprise-quality IT solutions to the business community. He quickly hired staff and moved to a small office complex in downtown Charleston, WV. It wasn’t long before that facility was too small and Advantage Technology moved to 814 Quarrier street where it remained for over a decade.
