As a Network Engineer at Advantage Technology, I am responsible for the design, development, and implementation of networks, where I specialize in wireless networks. I provide expert assistance with the maintenance of routers, switches, wireless access points and firewalls along with problem-solving related to core network infrastructure. In addition, I design custom networking solutions and manage network traffic.
Before coming to Advantage Technology, I worked for 10 years as a Field Service Technician in the IT Department for an Oil and Gas company supporting customers all over the US. I worked my way up to working in the Wireless Network team as an engineer supporting, testing, designing and implementing wireless IP networks, microwave backhaul networks, two-way communication networks, troubleshooting and supporting SCADA environments, providing network connectivity to extreme remote locations through wireless technology. I also supported satellite communications in remote locations traveling to remote sites and connecting them back to the corporate network. Five years before that, I worked as a Computer Technician and Systems Administrator for a small IT company supporting customer throughout the state.
In my free time, I enjoy time with my family, HAM radio, playing music and singing with my family. I also enjoy working in my church.
