In 1980, senior partner, R. Edison Hill, left a large corporate and insurance defense firm to begin a small personal injury practice. That small practice grew into a nationally known firm of eight attorneys including James C. Peterson, W. Kent Carper, C. Michael Bee and Harry G. Deitzler. Along with their staff, they represent victims of motor vehicle collisions, workplace incidents, defective products, and other catastrophic injury claims.

As with many industries, technology has transformed how the legal field operates. While images of banker boxes and steno pads may be the first thing to come to mind when you think of a law office, the truth is that today, everything is digital. Email, video conference and digital document storage are just some of the data that flows over the network. Behind the scenes, the man that keeps this data flowing is IT Director, Charles Justice.

As an IT Director responsible for so much critical data, Charles understands there are two ways to manage it. The first involves hiring staff that specializes in all the disparate tools and systems that the legal team needs. The strike was so close that electricity jumped into the power lines of the building, destroying a variety of electronics including two vital Ethernet switches. Charles called Advantage Technology, and within a couple of hours, Jonathan Knight arrived with two loaner switches.

Because of Jonathan's extensive experience in networking, and perhaps with a little luck, he was able to copy the configuration off of the damaged switch. That night they were able to remain operating with the loaner switches while they waited for permanent replacements.
