If there is one thing we know how to do here other than technology, it’s eat! At Advantage Technology, we always value the time we get to spend together. We decided to have a potluck party on St. Patrick’s Day and even the frigid weather couldn’t stop us from having a good time! Highlights of the afternoon included grinding our own burgers and tasting all of the great platters that we brought in.
It has been a year of change here at Advantage Technology. So, let’s take a look at the biggest stories with this year-end wrap up and then we’ll look to what technological wonders 2017 year has in store.
On Tuesday, December 13th, I returned to 580 WCHS’s Ask The Expert radio show with Dale Cooper to wrap up the year and talk about the dynamics of our innovative and relationship-driven company and take general tech support calls. At Advantage Technology, we stand by the fact that Our Advantage is Our People and I discussed some of the most important characteristics of our company that has made us who we are today.
On September 13th, 2016, Advantage Technology was proud to hold our ribbon cutting for our new headquarters located at 950 Kanawha Blvd E in Charleston West Virginia.
It’s been difficult finding nice, sunny days this summer. Unlike last year when we had a wonderful picnic at Kanawha State Forest under sunny skies, this year the threat of rain has been hanging around every weekend. So rather than risk having our company picnic ruined we tried something new. We literally had an office picnic in the office!
At 6 foot, 5 inches tall, Cody Clay is a big guy. When you see him, you can tell right away that he’s the kind of guy that fits right in on a football field. You wouldn’t picture him fitting in with the horned rimmed glasses worn by the computer nerds of 90’s sitcoms. Nor would you associate him with the lumberjack beards and gauged ears of the modern Silicon Valley hipster. But the truth is, he has more in common with them than he does with his fellow jocks on the gridiron.
It was a bright, sunny day. The creek was running cool, and the breeze was refreshing. In the air hung the smell of hot dogs and freshly barbecued pulled pork. Welcome to the first official Advantage Technology Company Picnic!
Hey, even IT professionals need to unplug from time to time. And what better place than Kanawha State Forest?
We had the sounds of children laughing and splashing and some classic rock on the stereo. All of those amazing homemade dishes we brought. It was wonderful!
