Well, we’ve been telling you about it for a while now — and showed some progress back in October and December — but moving time is very close at hand. By the end of May, we will be moved into our new building at 950 Kanawha Blvd E, and we couldn’t be more excited!
We’ve had some serious growing pains in our current office space due to all the new employees we’ve hired to handle demand. Here at Advantage Technology, we believe that our advantage is our people, and we’re dedicated to making sure that we have enough quality and talented people to be responsive to our customer’s needs. But when you have that many people, you need space.
950 Kanawha Blvd E gives us three floors to work out of. On the first floor we’ll have reception, sales and conference rooms. The second floor will be an open plan workspace for our technicians and project leaders. The third floor will be executive offices. The entire office will be state-of-the-art with a full kitchen, patio, exercise area and rec room.
A huge part of the design will be the cutting-edge data center that was engineered from the ground up with three things in mind: security, reliability and disaster avoidance. Access will only be granted to select engineers with two-factor authentication. Three of West Virginia’s top ISPs will be providing internet access, natural gas generators will be on standby in case of power failures, and redundant cooling systems will be running 24/7. The room itself will be on the second floor to protect from flooding, and Siemens Sinorix 227 fire suppression is employed to mitigate any fire damage.
