Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and Two-factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication

Multi-factor authentication, including Two-factor Authentication and sometimes referred to as MFA, 2FA and 2-Step Verification, is a method for verifying a user's identity by using more than simply a password.

Fact is, the password is incredibly outdated. Many people still use weak passwords, even though they’re frequently warned to make them as complex as possible. But even a strong password can be stolen and if your password is stolen, you’ll never know until it’s too late.

Cybersecurity Employee Training
Chris May's Cybersecurity Employee Training

In the modern, digital world, your employees are the last line of defense standing between cybercriminals and your bottom line. From ransomware to identity theft, criminals have mastered any number of ways to monetize lax cybersecurity. All they need is one employee with a simple password, a missing security update or disabled anti-virus and your data, your clients data and your entire network is compromised.

That’s why we’ve created our Cybersecurity Employee Training, a one hour presentation that covers all the fundamentals of cybersecurity. And we did the impossible with it. We made it both comprehensive and easily accessible by non-techies. That’s right, at Advantage Technology, we’re just that good.

Quick Bytes: Cybersecurity is only as strong as your weakest link
Quick Bytes

“A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.” That’s an apt saying that applies in a lot of different situations, from family feuds to cybersecurity. After all, if your coworker gets hacked, then the hacker is in your system too! That’s why you should never take their cybersecurity awareness for granted.

You should institute a culture of cybersecurity and make sure you have an open and honest environment where people can discuss and learn about cybersecurity freely.

Crossroads Church

The pastor of Crossroads Church was watching a movie with his daughter when it suddenly occurred to him, a movie theater would make an excellent church. There were plenty of rooms, large and small, that could facilitate services and classes. And the layout was perfect for the flow of people.

Ransomware is still a threat

From REvil and Maze to Doppelpaymer and Ragnarlocker, the list of stealthier and more aggressive ransomware continues to grow every passing day. Despite recent efforts to curb cyber extortion, ransomware is still a very real and formidable threat for businesses of all sizes. In fact, small businesses accounted for 71% of ransomware attacks in 2018; a trend that has no signs of slowing in coming years.
